While spending time in prayer on December 31st, the Lord highlighted John 15:8 for believers for 2022.
In John 15:8, Jesus said, “By this, My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit, so you will be My disciples”.
Many of us have read this verse and heard sermons on it, but we may not have taken it seriously yet. It’s not just about knowing the Word. We are to abide in the Word until it comes alive in us.
Jesus said, “He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.”
Where are we abiding in our life? Are we so busy with worldly things that there’s no room for His Word to dwell in our hearts?
You and I are not our own. We have been bought with the blood of Jesus. We are here to glorify God. This is the chief purpose of our life. When we bear much fruit, it glorifies our Heavenly Father.
The intent of the Lord is not ‘less’ fruit, but ‘much’ fruit. We can either offer ourselves to the pruning process to bear much fruit or resist it.
What is stopping you from bearing much fruit? What adjustments will you make for 2022? What needs to stay and what needs to go away?
Author and speaker, Lance Wallnau writes: Pruning involves selecting and cutting off the ‘good’ branches to divert maximum sap, energy, and nourishment from the tree into the most fruitful branch. What does Heaven want to manifest through you in this season? Divert all available energy into that branch and feed it!
