A few months ago, I sensed the presence of Jesus in my room. He had a message for His people. He said in a firm tone of voice that He is looking for overcomers, not excuses.
Most people have lost their appetite for God’s word. We don’t prioritize meeting Jesus in the secret place. Jesus has become a means to an end. We have lost our first love.
We may say we love Jesus, but talk is cheap. How much quality time do we give Him?
We all have other responsibilities, but that shouldn’t mean we give Jesus the leftovers. We need to take responsibility for our lukewarmness. The excuse of being busy can be a cover-up for hearts that have lost fascination for Jesus.
Author and speaker Rick Joyner writes;
“When we see the love that He has, we will be ashamed of our lack of love for Him and one another. Our crowns will also come off as we humble ourselves before His great glory.”
Guard the fire
We may give reasons as to why it’s so hard to rise above the issues in our lives. In the times we’re living in, we must be careful that we don’t become like the foolish virgins.
Let’s be watchful to be the wise ones having the oil of intimacy that keeps our hearts burning for Jesus.
In Revelation 3:16, Jesus said, “So then because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of My mouth.”
In Revelation 3:19, Jesus said, “As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten. Therefore be zealous and repent.”
Truth can be uncomfortable, can sound rude, and offend us, but it’s needed for our growth. Jesus will not force us to love Him. If we encounter Jesus face to face, as He is, the way He is, we will be undone.
It’s time to take our eyes off ourselves. It’s all about Jesus. No more playing the victim card. We’re not the center, He is the center. Our lives revolve around Him, not He around us.
His love and passion for us will not let Him go along with our pattern of thinking and behavior.
Jesus is the King of Glory and the Lord of Lords. He is our worthy Saviour. He is the coming King, the commander of the armies of heaven.
He is the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End, who is and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty. Everything was made through Him, by Him, and for Him. Let’s give Him the time, the affections, the obedience, and the adoration that is due to Him.
