There are things that we need to study and have knowledge about. Those are relevant to our lives. We need to be aware of it.
But then there is much information that adds no value, no substance to our lives, but instead, wears our soul out. It could be overly focusing on something that we don’t need to give much of our time, attention, and energies.
Not all, but right knowledge, at the right time, has the power to liberate our soul. It can bring us to a place of newness. It’s a new way of living, being led by the Spirit, that is, being led by God’s voice.
It’s a way of living where we learn to let our thoughts flow in the direction where the divine wind is blowing. It keeps us emotionally, physically, and spiritually healthy.
Right knowledge, right amount, right time
Caleb, Joshua and the ten spies saw the same facts that was visibly true in the natural. But Caleb’s and Joshua’s reaction was different because of their right knowledge of God. They saw another reality above the facts.
When we walk with God, the right knowledge, at the right time, in the right amount, is sufficient to keep us going. God does not create tension, He keeps it simple. He leads us one step at a time.
The temptation to know more or to figure out how things will play out can paralyse us. It snuffs out joy and divine rest from our lives.
There is the tree of facts, opinions, news, and predictions in the world. There is the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil. Then there is the Tree of Life. Depending on which tree we eat from, we will interpret everything in life.
Jesus said I am the way, the Truth and the Life. He said He came to give life and life in abundance. It’s not reserved for a future far away. It’s His life and thoughts flowing in abundance giving us peace and rest now.
When He says do not worry about life or that the very hairs on your head are numbered, will you take what He says at face value? Which tree you’re going to eat from today? Whose voice will you listen to?
