Some time ago, I had a powerful, revelatory dream that highlighted the power of truth to break strongholds and bring freedom.
Throughout the Bible, we see that God often speaks through dreams. Of course, not every dream carries spiritual meaning—some are simple, while others require interpretation. But at times, dreams can bring insight, direction, warning, confirmation, or clarity.
The Dream
In the dream, I was standing on a road. Behind me was a school building; in front of me was a playground. The playground looked like a shallow swamp, flooded with water.
Suddenly, a couple of huge crocodiles emerged from the water.
Startled, I turned and began climbing the wall of the school building. But as I climbed, I looked down and saw—shockingly—that the crocodiles were climbing up the wall after me.
I thought, How is this even possible?
I kept climbing until I reached a small ledge and stepped onto it. There, I noticed a bunch of tiny bananas.
I picked one up and threw it at a crocodile. To my surprise, the moment it touched the crocodile, it knocked it off the wall.
I was stunned. How could something so small do that?
I threw another banana at the second crocodile—and the same thing happened. Both fell.
Curious, I climbed down to check—and found that they were dead.
Dream Interpretation
In this dream, the crocodiles represent intimidating situations, persistent struggles, or even strongholds—patterns of thinking or behavior that feel difficult to overcome.
The playground can symbolize the world—our everyday environment, influences, and pressures. The crocodiles emerging from it suggest that these challenges often arise from real-life situations, temptations, or internal battles.
The school building represents a place of growth and learning—our journey of maturing in faith and understanding. Climbing the wall reflects a pursuit of growth, even while facing resistance.
The fact that the crocodiles kept chasing me points to something many people experience: even as you grow and move forward, certain struggles seem to follow. We’re making progress in the things of the Lord, yet we’re finding it hard to win some battles.
But then comes the turning point: the ledge—a place of perspective—and the bananas.
What seemed small and insignificant became the very thing that defeated what looked overwhelming.
The Power of Revelation
In the dream, those small bananas represent revelation—moments where truth becomes clear and personal.
It only took one small “piece” to bring down something much bigger. God was showing that it only takes one small revelation to knock out a massive stronghold in our life.
This reflects a powerful idea: sometimes, a single clear truth—deeply understood and believed—can dismantle a long-standing struggle.

“Most true spiritual warfare takes place in the arena of truth versus lies.”
Many struggles persist not just because of circumstances, but because of what we believe—often without realizing it.
Jesus said, “You shall know the truth, and the truth shall set you free.” (John 8:32)
Not just hearing truth—but knowing it in a way that reshapes how you think.
Truth vs. Feelings
At first, the bananas seemed too small to matter. In the same way, truth can sometimes feel too simple to address something complex.
But when believed, truth changes perspective—and that shift affects emotions, decisions, and actions.
For example:
When you truly believe God is your provider, anxiety begins to lose its grip.
When you see yourself differently, your choices begin to follow.
When you understand love at a deeper level, fear starts to fade.
These aren’t just ideas—they’re shifts in how you interpret reality.
Living It Out
There are many truths available in Scripture—but they don’t automatically transform us. They need to be understood, internalized, and trusted.
That process takes time:
Reflecting deeply
Questioning assumptions
Letting truth challenge long-held beliefs
As you do, you begin to recognize the “lies” or distortions that have shaped your thinking—and replace them with something more solid.
The role of the Holy Spirit, in this context, is guidance—leading you into clarity and helping truth become real, not just theoretical.
A Final Thought
Whatever “crocodile” you may be facing—whether it’s fear, habit, doubt, or pressure—it may not require something massive to overcome it.
Sometimes, it starts with one clear insight.
One shift in understanding.
One truth you choose to believe and hold onto.
Don’t dismiss small revelations.
They may carry more power than you expect.
Stay engaged. Keep learning. Keep pressing forward.
Freedom often begins there.
