How God Forgives You

God loved you so much that He came into this world in the person of Jesus Christ, died for your sins, and rose again on the third day. Through Him, God’s justice was satisfied so that we could be forgiven and rescued from the punishment our sins deserve.

Eternal life cannot be earned by good works; it is the gift of God. He has made a way, but the choice to receive Him is yours. God not only offers eternal life, but also purpose, peace, love, and meaning through a personal relationship with Him.

A drowning person must first admit they are drowning before calling for help. In the same way, unless we recognize that we are lost in sin, we will never see our need for a Savior.

Charles Spurgeon once said, “You are hanging over the mouth of hell by a single thread, and that thread is breaking.”

Tomorrow is not promised. One moment after death is too late to prepare for eternity. Every soul will spend eternity either in heaven or in hell.

If you are ready, take the following steps.

No matter how good a life we try to live, we still fall miserably short of being a good person. That is because we are all sinners. The Bible says, “No one is good—not even one.”

The Bible tells us that “God showed His great love for us by sending Jesus to die for us while we were still sinners.” This is the Good News, that God loves us so much that He sent His only Son to die in our place when we least deserved it.

The Bible tells us, “Repent of your sins and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped away”. Repentance is more than feeling sorry for your sin. It means changing your mind regarding sin and God. It is an inward turning from the sins you love to the holy God you’re called to love.

Jesus said, “Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in.” If you are ready, pray something like this and mean it in your heart.

God, I understand that I have broken your standards.
I have sinned against You. Please forgive my sins. I believe that Jesus suffered and died on the cross in my place and rose again. I now place my trust in Jesus as my Savior and Lord.

Jesus, influence my heart with new desires and give me Your Holy Spirit to help me experience a new life as your friend and son/daughter of God. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.

If you sincerely meant the prayer above, then all of your sins are forgiven. You now stand cleansed and fully accepted before God—not because of your own goodness, but because you placed your faith in what Jesus Christ has done for you.

Amazing, isn’t it?

You have now entered into a new relationship with God, and He is your Heavenly Father.

This is the beginning of a new life. The Bible describes it as being “born again” spiritually into God’s Kingdom. Just as a newborn needs milk to grow, you now need spiritual nourishment through God’s Word, the Bible, so that your faith can mature and grow stronger.
