You need to be challenged

Lance Wallnau on why we need be challenged:

Encouraging and nurturing is fine. But if overdone without challenging people enough they may perform at a mediocre level far below their calling and potential.

Challenging is not unloving. Even Jesus expected more out of His disciples.

Stop looking at the world getting worse as a sign that you’re going out and start looking at it as an invitation to go in. You are robbing Jesus of His glory. That’s burying your talent in the earth for fear that you’re going to screw up and then Jesus is going to come back and say why didn’t you risk doing something.

The person who hid the talent was called evil. The parable of the talents is really a parable of risk-taking. Jesus rewarded risk and He punished hyper nervous security.
