Jesus said I will do it for her

Draw near to God and He will draw near to you.
— The Bible

A few years ago, a couple had just started attending our Sunday morning church services. Though they came from a different religious background, the wife, in particular, was eager to know more about Jesus.

During one of the meetings, the couple approached me for prayer. The wife said, “Please pray that Jesus heals me of this health issue before Tuesday, otherwise I’ll need to undergo an operation.”

As I was about to pray, I sensed Jesus say, “Tell her she only has to ask Me once, and I will do it for her.” I could feel His eagerness and delight as He spoke those words.

So I told her, “Jesus is saying that when you go home, just speak to Him.”

The Bible says, “Draw near to God and He will draw near to you.” More than our desire to know Him, God desires to speak to us personally and reveal Himself to us. Yet He never forces anyone to believe in or worship Him.

Hebrews 11:6 says:

“But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.”

The following Sunday, she returned beaming with joy and excitement. She had spoken to Jesus, and He healed her supernaturally. There was no longer any need for the operation.

What a beautiful week that must have been for her.

And honestly, I was blessed too — with an even deeper fascination for Jesus.

Ask and it will be given to you. Seek and you will find. Knock and the door will be opened to you.
