I saw resilience
as she held her dream.
And the voices whispered,
“It’s hard, you know—
the journey is long and slow.
How far will you go?”
I saw resilience.
“Whatever it takes,” she said.
And the voices whispered,
“It’s a lonely path;
only a few dare to tread.
Remember how you bled
as your heroes fled.”
I saw resilience.
“I will take the blows,” she said.
And the voices whispered,
“The odds are against you.
You’re not cut out for the prime.
It’s just a matter of time
before you break in the climb.”
I saw resilience.
“In pain I may sigh,” she said,
“but when I fall, I rise.
I wait not for sunshine,
nor for blue skies,
for I see the prize—
the finishing line.
Come what may,
the race is mine.”
And I keep running.
When I was in 11th grade, God said, “Sachin, if you want to live a normal life, I will still bless you. But I’m asking whether you’re willing to submit your life to the purposes I have for you.”
Since then, I have been following God’s lead—seeking to be in the right place, at the right time, doing His will, not mine.
But this journey is not easy. It is a fight of faith. There are battles within and without. Even in our imperfections, we can keep going, because God’s unfailing love and His counsel impart life and hope within us.
God has set a race before you. It is uniquely designed and yours to finish. The voices will whisper, “Who do you think you are? You don’t have what it takes. You’re just a dreamer.”
A few weeks ago, the Holy Spirit said to me, “If you have an aim to run for, keep running.” He was showing me that in the midst of noise, chaos, and clutter, having an aim keeps us focused.
What do you want to do with your life—your time, your talent, and your money?
Life is a vapor. Time is a gift—don’t squander it. Live in such a way that you will have no regrets. God is your greatest encourager. Seek Him, find your race, be resilient, and keep running.
