Twists and Turns

Mountains cannot be surmounted except by winding paths.
— Johann Wolfgang

Here I go again,
like a rushing stream
cruising through the plains,
like a defiant eagle
gliding through the air,
like a lone ship
sailing in rough seas,
like a shooting star
blazing in your night sky.

I’m a kite cut loose,
stolen by the winds,
flying past the edges of pain,
while you complain in vain
of twists and turns
and how your world burns.

You gotta be willing to take the hits, and not pointing fingers saying you ain’t where you wanna be because of him, or her, or anybody.
— Rocky Balboa
